China cracks down on Hong Kong during coronavirus crisis

The Chinese government is applying in its own way the adage “never let a good crisis go to waste.” Under the cover of the coronavirus crisis, they are increasing intervention in Hong Kong affairs and attacking some actions by the pro-democracy forces to protect Hong Kong autonomy. There have been no demonstrations for a while, but pro-democracy groups are now planning a big demo for July 1, annivsersary of the handover.
