Passive resistance in Hong-Kong.

An article on Hong-Kong in The New York Times today reports some great examples of passive resistance against Chinese oppression. Somebody has spray painted on one of the streets downtown the first lines of China’s national anthem, “Arise ye who refuse to be slaves.” A store has put up examples of Maoist propaganda including one that proclaims “revolution is not a crime, rebellion is reasonable.”

I have stated and written before that China’s message to Hong-Kong the whole time has been make money, stay away from politics. Very appropriate for supposed revolutionaries in the Communist party.

With this message it is not surprising that Hong Kong’s billionaires are big supporters of Beijing.
