It has been distressing to watch the resistance of many ultra orthodox #Jews in New York against public health measures for the #Coronavirus. Governor Cuomo correctly pointed out about the restrictions on large gatherings for worship that “the #Torah speaks about how certain religious obligations can be excused if you are going to save a life. This is about saving a life.” Jews for example are commanded not to fast on yom kippur if their health does not allow it. After my cancer, I did not fast for yom kippur until 3 years ago.
